Pediatric Emergency Care

Your child’s health and well-being are your most important priority. But even though you may try your best to keep your child healthy and safe, you cannot predict an emergency and it’s not always easy to know exactly what to do when you’re in that emergency situation. But through Meridian Pediatric Network, you can take comfort in knowing that our facilities and hospitals provide your child the most complete, most coordinated care when they need it the most.

For minor emergencies such as sprains, stitches, and stomach illnesses, you can visit.

  • Meridian After Hours provides care when your illness and injuries occur after  regular office hours.
  • Meridian Urgent Care offers extended hours and weekend availability and provides care for times when you and your child just can’t wait to get better.
  • Ocean Care Center is the first satellite emergency room in New Jersey — open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For more severe emergencies, expert care can be received at Pediatric Care Centers located at Riverview Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital. If needed, our Care Centers provide seamless transfers to K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and access to more than 100 pediatric specialists. Our Pediatric Care Centers offer:

  • Special waiting rooms that create calming more inviting environments for children
  • Board certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians
  • Emergency care pediatric nurse practitioners
  • Magnet recognized nurses
  • Dedicated pediatric observation units
